Planning outfits for fashion week is not an easy task. The fun lies in wearing those outfits but planning them is definitely not easy. The perfect outfit has to be comfortable, but still look good, and yet it has to stand out but still look stylish but above all, it has to scream YOU. It needs to be your style, something that you would normally wear.
Fashion Week is the perfect opportunity to get creative with your outfits and pull out those items that you love so much but don’t know where to wear them. It’s also incredibly easy to lose sight and go overboard with styling your outfits leading to yet another wave of doubting the legitimacy of bloggers’ presence at fashion week.
Getting dress with the aim of being photographed by the street style photographers and being published on the online pages of Vogue or Elle, the same publishers criticizing fashion bloggers’ fashion week outfits, it’s an art in itself. In front of every location where big shows take place an army of fashionistas is waiting. The competition is fierce.
I have decided not to care about street style at fashion week. More often than not I don’t even wear the outfits I had prepared before fashion week, making last-minute changes and wearing whatever I feel like on the day of the show.
What we wear has more to do with our sense of style and not with other’s people opinions. Whatever you choose remember that even if you play it safe not be criticized, you will be criticized anyway! So why don’t you go for the “don’t care” attitude and just enjoy the ride?
